I have taken two tours with Haunted San Diego and have enjoyed both so so much! My first tour was with Rosalinda who was so great and really immersed everyone in the experience in a fun and entertaining way. My second tour was with Cowboy Pete who was hilarious, kind, and very engaging with the group! I felt very comfortable under the guide of the hosts and their knowledge of the history of San Diego was fantastic. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in all things eerie and/or those interested in history!
Had a tour with Leandra, she was so much fun and very informative. Took the walking tour. Not to strenuous, perfect amount of walking. You get to learn the historical titbits that are right under your feet while having fun with your guide. Not expensive, worth the price. Definitely recommend
My friend and I took the Paranormal Investigation Tour in Old Town and we had a lot of fun!! We walked around the haunted houses and the cementary in Old Town while trying to find paranormal activity with some instruments to do so. Our tour guide (I can't remember her name, sorry) was fantastic, she was so kind and with really good stories to share. I totally recommend this tour.

My group of 5 went on the Go-Bus Tour (the one that goes to Old Town, Sherman Heights, and Gaslamp) and had Al as our host. He was awesome, friendly, engaging, and super approachable. We went on a Saturday night at 8pm and it went until about 10:20pm. We were celebrating my bachelorette and it was just something fun and different to do. You can go to Old Town for dinner and drinks and then go on a ghost tour. It's perfect because they take you to historic places around SD, so you get to hear about history and death/ghost stories. My friend even captured a few creepy pics at one of the stops. The stairs photo has an orb in it. It's a live pic and when you watch it (I know you can't on here) the orb moves around. The living room pic is creepy as a still pic but even creepier as a live photo. The still pic shows what looks to be a gown in the top left corner. The live pic shows a shadow moving across the room. I would definitely recommend it!
Highly recommend this tour as a fantastic way to see and learn about the city! Our guide, Cowboy Pete, was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, making the experience both fun and informative. Gaining access to enter the locations was a definite bonus!

Great Ghost and Paranormal tour of San Diego. It is a riding and walking tour, and the walking is minimal. Our guide, Al, provided a fun experience and shared many interesting historical facts related to the city and haunted places visited. We were able to enter several of the buildings, which elevated the experience and gave us a chance to catch a glimpse of one of the spirits ourselves. Enjoyable and fun!

I'm all for being corny 🙂 We loved the deep history, cool facts, and creepy locations. I wished we could have entered Whaley and gone up stairs at Gaslamp Museum. Although I personally didn't 'experience' much, but my husband and son did feel 'something' at the Gaslamp Museum, which was still cool. We definitely were satisfied with this tour.

Husband and I did the 11:00pm ghost bus tour on 10/27. It was our first time ever doing this. Al was a super fun tour guide! We got to go in 4/5 locations as it was said to happen before you book this tour. Al gave a lot of info about the places and made it enjoyable. Some places were creepy but not scary which was a great intro into ghost tours lol Also, can’t forget our nice bus driver. I can’t remember his name 😭 but he was very sweet!

Which haunted bars do we visit?
Ah… now that would spoil the surprise, wouldn’t it? We visit three authentically haunted bars in the Gaslamp Quarter—but which ones you encounter depends on the night, the energy… and the whims of the spirits.
Each location has a documented paranormal past, chilling tales, and themed drinks to match. Just know: no other tour goes where we go, and no two nights are quite the same.
Far from it! This is a haunted bar tour—where ghost stories swirl with every sip. Think history, hauntings, and humor… not flip cups and frat parties. Most bars on our tour have a history of paranormal activity.
Do I get drinks with the tour?
Yes! Your ticket includes 3 themed cocktails—each crafted to match the ghostly tales you’ll hear. Drinks like The Madame, The Studebaker, and The Tanglefoot and there are other ones. We do not know which ones you will get night to night as our route and locations may change – the stories then change.
Can I buy extra drinks?
Absolutely. Your three drinks are included, but you’re welcome to order more if time permits and the spirits move you…
Do we actually go inside haunted bars?
Oh yes. You’ll step inside three chillingly historic pubs in the Gaslamp, each with its own dark story and eerie reputation. We don’t just walk by, we go in.
Each night is different and simply dreadful.
With that being said.., this is still a ghost tour. We are talking history but, it’s dark history with death, hangings, murders, and so on. It also has the element beyond death. Not what most people would imagine as kid-friendly. It is really up to you to know what your child can tolerate. Do feel free to call us to discuss this in detail.
Scary?
We call the tour spooky. There are no jump scares and we have never had a malicious encounter. For some, the subject matter can be scary, though for most it will be more creepy or disturbing.
What’s the vibe? Is it scary?
Not terrifying, but delightfully spooky. No jump scares, or clowns chasing you, or haunted house theatrics. Just ghostly ambiance, true tales, and the occasional eerie surprise.
Tour Minimum?
Our Haunted Guided Tour is small to ensure personal attention to you, our guests. We have only 20 spots available per tour. We require an 8 person minimum in order for us to do a tour. When you reserve a spot you will get an email confirming that your spot has been reserved. Once 8 people are confirmed on the tour, we’ll send another email so you know that the tour is on.
Your credit card is not charged until we hit the 8 minimum.
If the tour already has 8 people you will get the email immediately, and your card will be charged immediately.
It is rare, but occasionally if it appears that the tour will not go on. We will personally call and/or text you with a tour update 3-5 hours before your tour departure time. Please give us a legit working phone number you’ll have on you for calls/texts. You will not be charged. Your credit card is not processed if the tour does not meet the 6 person minimum.
If you book well in advance, bless you. Most people will book the day of their tour, so please be patient and remember: 90% of the time the tour fills the day of. Your confirmation will likely come sometime that day.

Why 8 People Minimum
There are two reasons for this. First, at least 8 people are necessary per tour for a sustainable business. The second, perhaps odd reason is that 8 seems to be the magic number of people needed for a great tour. Let us take you behind the scenes here. Once in a while we will get a 4 or lower star rating by a reviewer. A lot of times when we get that low of a review, the tour had less than 8 people. Experience shows we need that many people for the group to relax, and the guide to give the great presentation we are known for.
Cancel? Not Satisfied?
Cancellation Policy
If we cancel on you due to flooding, unforeseen incident or the tour minimum is not met know that you will be fully and promptly refunded. In the case of the minimum, you will not be charge as your card is not processed unless the minimum is hit. If you book us through someone else, Viator, Expedia, and so on – we will reach out to them and get you refunded.
If you cancel and let us know 24 or more hours before the tour, you will be refunded in full. If 24 hours or under – all sales are final. There are no tour date exchanges or refunds. Just like a concert or theater performance, once the tickets are purchased, the seats are considered sold. We do not offer refunds, nor can we change your booking to a different night or time if you miss the tour. This is our official policy.
Even so, we are human too, and know things happen. At our discretion and circumstances permitting, if you must cancel within 24 hours, we will do our best to make things work for you. You must contact us via text or call 619.255.6170, and if we can sell your spots before the tour, we will happily refund your purchase. So, the sooner you contact us, the better chance we have to sell your spot(s) and then get you your money back.
Your Satisfaction
It is rare, but we are not perfect and every once and a while someone will have a “meh” experience. If this happens to be you please call/text us 619.255.6170 and give us a chance to make things right. Often times we will refund you. Deep gratitude.

Third Parties
If you like to book through third parties like Expedia/TripAdvisor/Booking/Get Your Guide etc (all the same), know they are a challenging company in many ways, you’ll pay 30-50% more per ticket for the honor of using them in most cases, plus rumors that companies pay through their advantage programs to suppress and delete bad reviews and more.., So just keep it in mind, always a good idea to reach out directly to the actual host and get the best price as well as service.

Should I Tip?
If you enjoy the performance of your host, yes! It is customary to thank them however you see fit. Your host is a trained, experienced, and knowledgeable professional who puts a lot of effort and energy into your experience. Your generosity is always appreciated. It is how the host makes much of their income. Most people tip around $5-$10 per person, though anything is appreciated.

Parking? Arrival? Where?
Parking
You should arrive in the Gaslamp/Downtown at least 35 minutes prior to the tour departure (more during busy season). There is parking available, it can be competitive. If you find a spot early don’t worry, there is plenty to do in the Gaslamp.
Consider using the SpotHero app to reserve a parking spot ahead of time and at the best price. We use it and get great results it does make parking easier.
There are tons of parking garages and lots around, most do charge though. If you can Lyft, Cab or Uber you might consider that too.
Arrival
Please make sure to be there 20 minutes before your tour embarks. When you get there you will see our ghost host dressed in Victorian attire or in black with a bell, they will be pretty obvious. Please introduce yourself to the host, have the ticket buyer give their name, and you are good to go. There is no ticket or phone app needed just your name. We go by a roster.
There are rare cases where the earlier tour may have gone over. In that case please be patient, they will materialize.
Use the bathroom first! There are no bathrooms on the tour. You can find one at Starbucks or Hard Rock.
Once confirmed with the host hang out until the tour starts. If everyone shows up a bit early we may be able to leave early and fit in some additional content.

We gather near 550 J Street in the Gaslamp Quarter—between CVS and the Pendry Hotel.

Is it a walking tour?
Yes—but not a hike. We stroll through the Gaslamp Quarter, with about 20 minutes at each bar. Comfortable shoes and curiosity recommended.
Bathrooms? Drinking/Food/Smoking?
Bathrooms
Indeed — the haunted bars we visit do have restrooms available for guests. However, during the walking portions between stops, there are no facilities… and the spirits do not wait.
We strongly encourage guests to use the restroom before the tour begins. And while you’ll enjoy three included drinks, do pace yourself—this is a journey through the paranormal, not a pub binge. No one wants their night to end… in a puddle of regret.
Drinking/Food/Smoking?
Please don’t bring food or drink on the tour. If you stop during the tour to get a drink or food you will be left behind, we have to keep moving to fit it all in.
Please don’t smoke or vape during the tour as courtesy to others. Deep graitude.
Is there an age limit?
Yes — 21+ only. No exceptions. This is a bar crawl with alcohol and adult storytelling. Bring ID and a brave heart.
